Easter Eggs in Sweden
13.04.2025In Sweden, Easter (Påsk) is both a religious and family celebration that marks the arrival of spring and the awakening of nature after long months ...
The Stockholm metro is a vast art gallery accessible to all, offering an unusual journey through the history of Swedish art, as well as the discovery of unique techniques and experiments developed over the years and in response to the constraints of new metro lines and stations.
Since its creation in the 1950s up to today, the Stockholm metro network has significantly expanded and now includes nearly 100 metro stations. Each station houses a piece of art, sometimes very discreet, sometimes much more spectacular. However, every station also reflects the era in which it was created and mirrors contemporary artistic trends.
During our approximately 2 and a half hour tour, we will explore these evolutions and observe the different techniques used to decorate the various metro stations. We will start the tour at T-Centralen metro station (the historic starting point of the network) and finish at the brand-new commuter train (RER) City-terminalen station, located deep within the central station. Beyond the metro, art is gaining ground and is now extending to the RER, bus, and tram networks.
