Located on Värmdö Island, just a stone's throw from Stockholm, Artipelag is an exceptional place that harmoniously blends contemporary art with breathtaking natural landscapes. This excursion invites you to discover this unique location, where human creativity meets the wild beauty of nature.
Upon arrival, a short introductory walk along the water will allow you to understand the layout of the place and the modern architecture of the building, which seems to blend seamlessly into the surrounding landscape with its large bay windows offering stunning views of the water and the surrounding forests, creating an atmosphere of serenity and inspiration.
Next, we will visit the museum's exhibition together: the contemporary art exhibitions change regularly, showcasing both Swedish and international artists (check below this text to discover the exhibition at the time of your stay), giving you the opportunity to learn about a new artist or deepen your knowledge of a well-known artist with the help of a prepared guide who will try to convey the artist's approach and thoughts.
Afterward, you will have free time to have lunch in one of the two restaurants in the building, picnic by the water if the weather permits, visit the design shop, or stroll along the surrounding paths where outdoor art installations await you. These works, integrated into nature, invite you to reflect on the relationship between art and the environment. The stunning landscapes, with their green hills and water views, provide perfect opportunities for taking photos and enjoying the tranquility of nature.
Around 3 PM, we will meet at a designated point by the guide to take the boat (or bus on certain days) back to Stockholm.
